A self-employed part-time personal assistant is required. The successful applicant will primarily provide administrative support to the chief executive of an exciting and rapidly expanding start up company, Ranvier Health, (a medical device company). The role will be split between Ranvier Health and the companies of two of its associates; this will provide a worthwhile number of hours of employment while Ranvier Health is growing. As this is a new position, the personal assistant will have the opportunity to develop the role according to their interests and abilities. It is envisaged that a long term relationship will develop with the right candidate.

The role will entail:

- Maintaining financial records, filing bank accounts and receipts, liaising with accountants to ensure appropriate records are kept.

- Diary management. This may be for both work and personal events.

- Arranging meetings

- Removing the burden of day to day household administrative tasks from the directors, for example paying bills, opening mail, meter readings, setting up direct debits.

- Tracking and handling email correspondence.

- Making travel arrangements.

- Other duties as might be required from time to time.

The ideal candidate will be reliable and will demonstrate strong administrative and organisational skills, and initiative. They will have good communication skills. This will be a part time role and the number of hours required is likely to vary. The working pattern is flexible, however there are likely to be some key meetings and a need to fit around the working commitments of the directors. The directors will need to communicate with the assistant outside office hours at times. IT competence is essential and will include familiarity with Microsoft Office software. The successful applicant will work with an apple laptop and will be willing to learn to work with new software applications. Hourly rate is negotiable at £12 -£15, depending on the experience of the applicant. Initially, it is estimated that 12 hours per week will be required, with a minimum of 8 hours. There is likely to be the opportunity to increase the number of hours over time as the company grows.
